Bluestar (Beijing) Chemical Machinery Co, Ltd. owns a state-level industrial technology research center and two provincial/ ministerial-level research centers. It has undertaken and completed more than 20 projects under the 863 Program and the National Science and Technology Support Program, and other key S&T projects, developed high-tech products and proprietary technologies with proprietary intellectual property and won many S&T awards.

Beijing Enterprise Technology Center
It is one of the enterprise technology centers recognized by Beijing Government in the 11th batch in 2008. It researches, formulates and organizes the implementations of strategic plans for enterprise innovation, organizes technology development, transfer, management and service, participates in the research and formulation of national, industrial and enterprise technical standards, and cultivates a technology innovation team of the enterprise.
The center focuses on the research of efficient and energy-saving engineering technologies for chlor-alkali equipment. It has undertaken some key projects under the program for basic research of application and strategic high technologies of Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission (oxygen cathode project), National Science and Technology Support Program (oxygen cathode project) and National New Products Program (membrane polar distance electrolyzer project).
Beijing Research Center for Chlor-alkali Engineering Equipment and Technology
It is one of the technology research centers recognized by Beijing Government in the second batch in 2011. It researches and develops the major and key, basic and generic technologies in the chlor-alkali industry, participates in the research and formulation of national, industrial and enterprise technical standards, undertakes the research, design and testing tasks of engineering technologies entrusted by enterprises, scientific research institutions and universities, and provides technical consulting, product testing and other services for related enterprises. The center owns base for pilot plant test of ion membrane electrolysis.
The center focuses on the research of the technology for ion-exchange membrane caustic soda electrolysis. It has completed the R&D of the membrane polar distance ion-exchange membrane electrolysis technology, which is designed and built a modern production line. In 2010, it was granted the title of “international key new product” by the Ministry of Science and Technology and related departments. The application of its invented high-power optical fiber laser device in the field of welding technology of ion membrane electrolyzers improved the manufacturing quality and service performance of the electrolyzers. The developed chlor-alkali electrolysis devices for salt refining, liquid alkali evaporation, and production of solid caustic soda provide support for the supply of complete sets of equipment. It provides technical upgrading solutions for homemade and imported electrolytic devices, and promotes S&T progress of the chlor-alkali industry.

Bluestar (Beijing) Chemical Machinery Co, Ltd. has a technology R&D center under which there are chlor-alkali equipment, electrode research, composite material, etc.
3. Cooperative R&D
The center has established a technology innovation system which combines enterprises, universities and research institutions, set up research center for “New-type Electrodes of Ion-Membrane Electrolyzers” and enter for “Joint Research of Advanced Manufacturing Process Technology” together with Beijing University of Chemical Technology and Beijing University of Technology, and established a research base for engineering technology of carbon fiber composite material in cooperation with Beijing University of Chemical Industry. It jointly carries out the application research of new materials with many companies.
