On November 21, 2013, the operation & maintenance seminar of ion-exchange membrane alkali plants and trade convention was held by AMAI in Chennai, India. The minister of sales department Gao Feng, Guo Wenjie, Liu Hui participated in this exhibition, and visited India Grasim, GFL, MFL chlor-alkali plants.
During the seminar, our company gave a speech named "dedicated in chlor-alkali industry, create green energy saving products". Meanwhile, we used exhibition booth to promote company’s business, especially electrolyzer business. Through communication and negotiation, we learnt the new technology achievements of current India chlor-alkali industry, including the development of electrolyser technologies, new developments in the field of brine filtration and achievements of monitoring equipments.
We also realize some technology and demand information about upgrading and modification of Indian chlor-alkali enterprises. There were totally 34 caustic soda plants in India (2013.3.31); the total capacity of caustic soda was 3,134,000 tons per year. 2012-2013, caustic soda production was 2.54 million tons, and the demand was 2.81 million tons. India's chlor-alkali industry has completely turned to energy-saving and environmental ion exchange membrane cell technology, expanded the industry scale, used raw materials locally and they have abundant human resources. But there are also disadvantages such as low utilization of chlorine, poor infrastructure, high transport costs and high energy price. In conclusion, to enter into the Indian chlor-alkali market, we are facing opportunities and challenges both.
After the exhibition, we visited Aditya Bola Grasim plant, GFL, and MFL chlor-alkali plants, knew more about production and technology status of the plants, and we also introduce the electrolyzer technology of BCMC, made technical and business communication with them.
From this seminar, we got better understanding about the development prospect of Indian market, strengthened communication with India caustic soda plants and engineering firms, expanded the influence in the Indian market, and laid the foundation for BCMC electrolyser in Indian market.
